Step 1

Get a quote

To get an idea of how much it will cost to remove your stump, you can simply text us a picture with a tape measure across the widest part. Some stumps may require an in person estimate.

Step 2

Mark Public Utilities

Once you have agreed to the estimate, I will request all public utilities be marked (it’s a free service you can request here). This protects your home and Old Town Stump Removal from hitting gas lines, power-lines, sewer lines, water lines, fiber optic, etc. Irrigation, private gas, electric, etc must be declared at the time of estimate by the homeowner or contractor.

Step 3

Stump Removal

After the utilities have been marked, Old Town Stump Removal will arrive at your property and remove the stump. Old Town Stump Removal offers 3 distinct levels of service for stump removal.

#1 Piled on top of hole

This is the standard stump removal service. We grind the stump 8-10 inches below soil grade, leaving a mulch type material. If you intend to replant a tree in the same spot, a deeper grind can be performed. All stump grindings will be neatly raked back on top of the hole.

#2 removed to ground level

Our second option for stump removal consists of the same as option #1, except we remove all excess stump grindings to approximately ground level.

#3 removed, Back-filled with soil + seed

The final option for stump removal consists of the same steps as option#1, except we remove all excess grindings, backfill with soil, compact soil, add topsoil, and finish by adding grass seed.
